Notchwake is not working: what to check

I cannot find the app

Notchwake has no Dock icon. It lives at the notch (or at the top of the screen on a Mac without one). Hover the notch to open the island. If nothing is there, check that the app is running and open it again.

I changed something and nothing changed

Quit the app and open it again. If you build it from source, an old copy still running is the first suspect: quit it before you reopen.

Music or Spotify does not show

1. Open Music or Spotify first. The island only asks an app that is already running.
2. Open System Settings, Privacy & Security, Automation, and make sure Notchwake is allowed to control Music and Spotify.
3. Spotify cover art needs a network connection.

The calendar or reminders are empty

1. Allow Calendar and Reminders when the app asks, or in System Settings, Privacy & Security.
2. Check that the calendar is not unticked in Notchwake's preferences.
3. For Google events, add the account in System Settings, Internet Accounts, with Calendars on.

The Agents tab shows nothing

1. The app never connects to your coding agent on its own. In the Preferences, Agents, click Connect for the agent you use.
2. Connecting backs up the agent's settings file first and only touches Notchwake's own entries, so you can undo it.
3. Sessions appear once the agent sends its first event.

A feature is missing from the island

Open Preferences, Modules. A module that is turned off stops its service and hides its card. Turn it on again.

It asks for permissions again

Permissions belong to the app identity. If you used the app under its earlier name Notchfly, macOS asks once more for Calendar, Reminders, Automation, Camera and the others. You can delete the old entry in System Settings, Privacy & Security. The launch at login item also needs to be turned on again.

The island does not show on my external monitor

It shows on every display, with a small handle on the secondary ones. Without a notch the idle island is a thin handle at the top of the screen.

My trial ended

The trial lasts 7 days. After that the app shows a screen to enter a license key. Enter the key from your purchase email to continue.
